 | Receptionist: Debbie I became a Westonka Animal Hospital team member in December of 2001. I live in Mound with my son Rick and my dog "Mocha". Mocha is a smooth coated black and tan Miniature Dachshund. He is a big voice in a small body. Don't tell him he's small as he thinks he's a very BIG dog. I have been priveleged to have "been owned by" Basenji dogs since 1979. I am currently "between" Basenjis as my Gyasi passed away, but am looking forward to a new puppy sometime in my future.

Our Hospital Cats!
Tiger Lily
Tiny Tim
Tiny Tim and Tiger Lily are definitely our cutest staff members!
They were born in April of 1999 and have been at our hospital since
they were 2 weeks old. They came to our hospital in need of medical
attention. Sadly, when the two kittens were in their box with their
mother they got their feet tangled in some string from their blanket.
Their mother got the string off, but Tiny Tim was left missing a foot
and Tiger's leg was badly twisted. We all became quickly attached
to the two kittens, and needless to say they never left our hospital!
Tim now gets around fine minus one foot and Tiger is able to walk normally,
but if you look at her back leg you can see how it's twisted.
Tiny Tim and Tiger Lily have been more wonderful staff members than
we ever could have imagined. They are both extremely friendly,
loving, and great with children and other animals. They take a lot of pride in their work of making everyone smile. Next time you are
at the hospital keep an eye out for these two and say hi (and they wouldn't mind a nice belly rub too)!

So that you get to know us better, our entire staff is committed to the following
Core Values:
- in celebrating the love people have for their pets
- the care we want = the care patients want
- patients' interests come first, community interests second, client's interests are third, our's are fourth.
- self improvement = care improvement
- that we will not participate in unreasonable euthanasias*
- in diagnosing before treating
*For example, we will not euthanize for behavior problems unless that pet has completed and failed a behaviorial modification program directed by a veterinarian. Even then, we may chose to help that pet find a new home which may be a better fit for that pet rather than to euthanize it.
